I. Scheduling: Please schedule your lessons carefully, watching for potential conflicts far in advance. I do work on holidays, summer and school vacations. Preferred lesson time is given to students that demonstrate good preparation, good attitude, attention to all details and promptness. The standard lesson time is 60 minutes, but 30 and 45-minute lessons at my studio or virtual are also available. If the student arrives late for a lesson, he/she will only receive the remainder of the lesson time that day. Arrival after 15 minutes is considered a no-show and the lesson is terminated at full value. Do not arrive earlier than your scheduled time, set-up and warm-up time is included in the allotted lesson time.
II. Payment: Monthly (group of 4 lessons taken weekly) or Single lessons are available and can be paid via Paypal, Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, with personal checks or cash. Single lessons must be paid at the time of the lesson. Virtual lessons must be paid before the class. Payments are not prorated, credited or transferred for missed classes (see cancelations below for make-up lessons). There will be a $25 fee charged on all returned checks.
III. Cancellations: If the student is unable to make the lesson, for any reason, it will be charged for the lesson unless he/she contact the teacher 24 hours in advance. This is standard practice. If a scheduled lesson time falls on any holiday, weekend, school vacation or similar non-regular day, the lesson is still on and the student is responsible to make it. Do not assume that the lesson is cancelled because of any of the mentioned situations. The teacher will not be responsible for any misunderstandings due to failure to notify an absence. Students are permitted make-up lessons at teacher discretion. Students are responsible of scheduling make-up lessons at a time mutually agreed upon by the teacher and the student within 7 days of the missed lesson, without affecting the regular lesson time, if there are times available. Lessons that cannot be made-up will not be eligible for a refund. Scheduled make-up lessons missed by a student will not be made up.
IV. Teacher Absence: If the teacher needs to cancel a lesson due to sickness, or to fulfill any professional musical obligation, the student will be informed and a make-up lesson will be arrange.
V. Others: Students/parents are responsible for purchasing all lesson books, materials, supplies and equipment recommended by the instructor. Commitment to practice is extremely important and essential for musical development and progress. Students should be practicing daily (6 times per week). Practice time will vary from student to student depending on many factors including age, ability and level.
